🌸 Hana Learn — Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Drito LLC, a Florida limited liability company and the operator of Hana Learn (“Hana Learn”, “we”, “us”). They apply to the Hana Learn iOS app and its connected features. By downloading or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Your license to the app
The app is distributed through the Apple App Store, and your license to the app itself is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). These Terms supplement that EULA with terms specific to Hana Learn's features and subscriptions; if the two conflict regarding the app license, the EULA controls. Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no responsibility for the app or its services; Apple (and its subsidiaries) is a third-party beneficiary of the EULA and may enforce it.
2. Hana Pass subscriptions
- Hana Pass is an optional auto-renewing subscription (offered monthly or yearly) that unlocks every course unit, all culture stories, the pocket translator, and a larger monthly conversation allowance. Current prices are always shown in the app before you subscribe.
- New subscribers may be offered a 3-day free trial. The trial converts into a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused trial time is forfeited when a purchase completes.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel any time in your device settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions), or from Manage Subscription inside the app. Cancelling keeps your access until the end of the paid period.
- Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
3. Free features and fair use
The free plan includes a selection of course units, culture stories, and a monthly allowance of live conversation messages. Allowances and the free/paid boundary may change as the service evolves; active subscriptions keep the benefits promised when you subscribed. You agree not to circumvent usage limits, resell access, or use automated tools to exhaust or abuse the service.
4. Hana is an AI
Conversation practice, replies, and feedback are generated by artificial intelligence. Hana is a fictional character, and AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, or oddly phrased — treat it as language practice, not as factual, professional, medical, legal, or safety advice. Please don't share sensitive personal information in conversation sessions; sessions are processed as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the app lawfully and not to: submit unlawful, harassing, or abusive content through the conversation feature; probe, disrupt, or overload our servers; reverse engineer or copy the app or its content except as permitted by law; or misrepresent your use of the service. We may suspend online features (including conversation access) for abuse.
6. Our content
All lessons, courses, artwork, characters, audio, and text in Hana Learn are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-commercial license to use them within the app. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve the app without obligation to you.
7. Progress backups
Anonymous progress backup is a convenience feature provided as-is; keep your device backed up normally. We may delete server backups that have been inactive for an extended period, and “Reset all progress” in Settings deletes your server copy immediately.
8. Changes to the service
We are always improving Hana Learn and may add, change, or retire features, content, and allowances. If we make a change that materially reduces what an active subscription provides, you may cancel and keep access through the end of your paid period.
9. Disclaimers
The app and its services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that studying with it will achieve any particular learning outcome.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for all claims relating to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us through the app in the twelve months before the claim or (b) US $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; nothing in these Terms limits rights that consumer law grants you and that cannot be waived.
11. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to online features if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (6, 9, 10, 12) survive termination.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose laws grant you non-waivable rights or a different forum, those rights are unaffected. If you have any issue with the app, please contact us first — nearly everything can be sorted out with an email.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. The date below reflects the latest version, and material changes will be noted in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
